We’ve been to Seward multiple times. And being creatures of habit, we had our favorite restaurant that we went back to every time as a treat. But eventually we realized we should probably check a few other places to eat in Seward. And following a suggestion from a friend, we tried out Woody’s Thai Kitchen. So now we have two favorite restaurants in Seward – because Woody’s Thai Kitchen is amazing!
Location and Ambience of Woody’s Thai Kitchen
Woody’s Thai Kitchen is a small hole in the wall place located a little outside of the main shops and restaurants of Seward. I honestly probably would have never stopped here if we hadn’t had a recommendation from a friend who has very high standards on Thai food. It is walking distance from the boat harbor, and a short drive (or longer walk) from downtown Seward. Their address is 800 4th Avenue, Seward, Alaska.
Inside the restaurant is very simple and minimally decorated. The kids’ favorite part was the large fish tank! The servers were friendly and efficient, and they provided our kids with coloring pages and crayons to keep them occupied. Always appreciated!
Our Favorite Dishes
Since we are not huge Thai food eaters, we weren’t particularly sure what to purchase. But our friend had said that everything at Woody’s Thai kitchen was delicious, so we kind of went along with that general consensus. She wasn’t wrong! Ben ordered pad thai noodles and I ordered the bacon fried rice. Both were absolutely wonderful. The pad thai noodles were definitely more authentic Thai, but for us having both was the perfect combo. We also ordered fresh summer rolls. Ben loves rolls, and generally speaking I do not. However, we both truly enjoyed these.
Woody’s Thai Kitchen also has a good kids’ menu. I do not remember everything that was on it at this point, but it was, as my kids described it, “normal food for kids.” So Ben and I had Thai food, and the kids had “normal” food supplemented with some tastes from our dishes. It was a perfect experience and very enjoyable.
A Delicious Family Restaurant
We definitely recommend Woody’s Thai Kitchen for a family outing in Seward, Alaska! Another restaurant we recommend is Apollo Restaurant. And if you are looking for other activities in Seward, be sure to check our guide to visiting Seward!
