“Why should I diffuse oils? How is it possibly going to benefit me? I mean it smells good. But so do candles.” I’ve heard that a few times. And honestly I used to think similarly! Well, friend, let me lay out for you why you should be diffusing essential oils. There are SO many reasons. So let’s cover the benefits of diffusing essential oils.
Many candles are made from paraffin which is a petroleum product. When burned, this paraffin can release harmful chemicals into the airwhich can cause health issues. Furthermore, scented candles are created with artificial fragrances which contain toxins which can trigger allergies and other health issues. Quality essential oils act as natural air fresheners and release amazing scents into your home, without these health concerns. In fact, there are many benefits of diffusing essential oils aside from them simply being safer.
Many oils have strong immune support properties. When you diffuse quality essential oils into the air, you can gain wonderful immune support benefits. Some wonderful oils to diffuse for immune support include Thieves, Oregano, Peppermint, Cinnamon Bark, and Clove. I personally love to combine Thieves and Peppermint together for immune support – it smells delightful and invigorating and it provides the immune support that I desire.
I absolutely love using our oils to promote sleep. This may be one of my favorite benefits of diffusing essential oils. There are so many oils that lend themselves to sleep support. My favorite blends are Peace and Calming II, Gentle Baby, or a Lavender, Cedarwood, and Copaiba combination.
As a homeschool Mom who usually has a zillion things going on, cognitive support is something I can definitely use. It’s also a huge support to have a mental support blend diffusing when I’m teaching kiddos during their lessons. I so enjoy diffusing GeneYus or Citrus Fresh throughout the day to help with mental acuity!
Everyone has hours or days or months or years where they struggle. There is not a single person in the world who simply doesn’t need a little emotional support at some point in time. Emotional support is another one of my often used benefits of diffusing essential oils. My current personal favorites are Stress Away, Valor, and White Angelica. Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, and Bergamot are also fantastic. (And there is also a long list of other ones that I’m not putting in here for the sake of space!)
Whether you are slightly under the weather, have allergies, have experienced a hard workout, or are having an emotionally trying day, you probably need respiratory support. Having oils diffusing supports deep, relaxed breathing. Some of my favorites to use are R.C., Raven, and Peppermint.
