Homeschooling can be a challenge. But, it’s also an amazing journey. One thing we’ve found to help with the homeschooling challenges is by knowing which essential oils to use to assist your family in this adventure. In our homeschool routine we use many different oils to help us through the day. Here is a list of what we’ve found to be some of the best essential oils for homeschooling.
Lavender or Gentle Baby
Sometimes kids just get wild and spun up. Sometimes it is an issue of excitement and other times it is simply a meltdown. Having oils to help calm the child down and get back to an energy level where school can be taught is essential! My two go-to oils in this are Lavender and Gentle Baby. Lavender is the oil I often diffuse in my house to just keep the atmosphere calm and relaxed. If you are running low on Lavender, you could also diffuse Stress Away which contains Lavender and many other awesome oils. Gentle Baby I usually make into a roller and apply on my kids’ spines or wrists when I feel they need an extra boost. (Pro tip: Both of these oils are great oils to diffuse or roll on your kids when you are trying to get them to sleep!)
Sometimes we just need an extra boost to get going with our day. We’re tired, or just not moving in a productive manner. In these cases I love to diffuse Peppermint or Citrus Fresh essential oils. (You can also combine them and they smell AMAZING!) These oils are perfect to help give you an energizing boost to your movements and get a move on your day! I definitely would not want to miss having these in my essential oils for homeschooling kit.
Vetiver or GeneYus
Vetiver and GeneYus are both oils that are perfect for helping little ones (and adults!) focus in a calm manner. This has been a game changer for those mornings when we are sitting down doing math, and the kids simply won’t concentrate. I like to apply just a little diluted Vetiver or GeneYus on there wrists and it is amazing to see the difference. I also love diffusing Vetiver (often with Citrus Fresh) to give everyone a boost as we start the mornings.
GeneYus is a specific kid blend to help little ones focus and be emotionally grounded. It has many oils in it, including Vetiver, Cedarwood, Melissa, and Rose. It smells quite good and is one of my “must have” essential oils for homeschooling. I pop a roller on the top of the bottle and rub it on the kids’ wrists when we need that boost of concentration.
Other Essential Oils for Homeschooling
There are many other oils that can be used for homeschooling, but these ones are my core group. We also use our immune support roller to make sure we are staying healthy, and keeping up with our overall immune routine. We make sure that our children get plenty of sleep and outdoor time so that their minds are sharp and have a better ability to focus on hand. All of these things play a huge role in making sure that our homeschool days go smoothly.
